Misuse of Drugs Amendment (Methylamphetamine Offences) Bill 2017

SynopsisThe purpose of this bill is to amend the Misuse of Drugs Act 1981 and the District Court of Western Australia Act 1969 to provide that a drug dealer who is caught with 28 or more grams of methamphetamine be subject to a maximum penalty of life imprisonment.

This Act comes into operation 28 days after it receives the Royal Assent - Royal Assent given 21 Aug 2017 as Act No. 3 of 2017
