Synopsis:
“This is an interview with the Hon. Keith Wilson for the Western Australian Parliamentary Oral History Project and the Battye Library Oral History Unit. Keith Wilson was born in 1936 in Kalgoorlie and educated at Kalgoorlie Central School and Eastern Goldfields Senior High School. After leaving school he attended Claremont and Graylands Teachers' Colleges, graduating in 1955. From 1956 to 1958 he taught at Mt Barker Junior High School. In 1959 he commenced study at Wollaston Theological College from which he received a Licentiate of Theology in 1961; he was ordained an Anglican priest in 1962. From 1962 to 1965 he was the assistant priest in the parish of Scarborough, and from 1965 to 1967 he had an appointment in a parish in south-east London. While in London he worked as a schoolteacher and also trained and worked as a youth worker. Returning to Australia in 1967, he spent a year as a diocesan youth worker and from 1969 to 1976 as a priest in the Nollamara-Balga parish. He married Angela Hankin in 1968 and they have two sons.”
