Question Directed to the: Minister for Disability Services
Parliament: 40 Session: 1
Question
I refer to service providers who have completed the registration process to deliver National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) services in Western Australia, and I ask:
(a) of the 700 registered NDIS providers in Western Australia, how many are actively providing NDIS services;
(b) what supports are in place to help people navigate which providers to use; and
(c) when will the Safety and Quality Commission be operational in Western Australia?
Answered on 8 May 2019
(a-b) This information is held by the National Disability Insurance Agency.
(c) I am advised that the Quality and Safeguards Commission (the Commission) is a new independent agency established to implement a nationally consistent quality and safeguarding framework for NDIS participants. The Commission will start managing quality and safeguards, including NDIS provider registration, in Western Australia from 1 July 2020.
