Biosecurity and Agricultural Management Bill 2006

SynopsisThe purpose of this Bill is to provide effective biosecurity and agriculture management for Western Australia. It will achieve this by establishing an effective means of:
  • controlling the entry, establishment, spread and impact of animal and plants pests and diseases;
  • controlling the use of agricultural and veterinary chemicals;
  • allowing standards to be set to ensure the saftey and quality of agricultural products; and
  • enabling certain funds to be raised for biosecurity related purposes.

Royal Assent given 12 Oct 2007 as Act No. 23 of 2007. This Act comes into operation on a day fixed by Proclamation (see Assent and Commencement information for Acts)
