On November 9 2005, the Standing Committee on Uniform Legislation and Statutes Review resolved to commence an inquiry pursuant to term of reference 8.3(b) to consider or review the development and formulation of the agreement reached at the Council of Australian Governments on September 27 2005 in relation to strengthening counter-terrorism laws, the implementation of which will require the enactment of legislation made subject to Standing Order 230A.
