The extensive Parliament House grounds between Hay Street and Malcolm Street provide an ideal environment to undertake additional activities to students or for people to learn more about the history of our grounds.

Treasure Hunts

The Treasure Hunt is a curriculum themed activity for student years 5-6 and incorporates historical, geographical and civic clues located around the grounds of Parliament House. Taking around 45 minutes, the hunt can be completed individually or in small groups and is a great addition to a school tour or as a stop off or standalone activity when visiting the city’s other attractions.

Amazing Race

For high school aged students the Amazing Race is a 30-minute race that runs from Parliament House to the Constitutional Centre, or in reverse, depending on where you wish to start and finish. Designed to value add to the popular three-way rotation in the democracy precinct, the Amazing Race is a group activity filled with fun clues and will be sure to burn off a little excess energy.

Self-Guided Garden Tours

As one of the State’s main civic buildings, Parliament has a strong commitment to ensuring that the gardens are an icon for all Western Australians.
The Self-Guided Garden Tour allows you to enjoy touring the grounds, at your own pace, to discover the wide variety of plants on display.
