Long Title |
The purpose of the Bill is to make amendments to section 22 of the Minimum Conditions of Employment Act 1993 for the purposes of adding the following provisions -
an employee has no entitlement to paid leave where the employer considers, on reasonable grounds, that the period of absence was industrially motivated, unless the employee provides a medical certificate and statutory declaration support their claim; providing a penalty for employees who attempt to disguise industrial action as sick leave; and
providing a definition of "industrially motivated" action. |
