Minimum Conditions of Employment (Blue Flu) Amendment Bill 2005

Long Title The purpose of the Bill is to make amendments to section 22 of the Minimum Conditions of Employment Act 1993 for the purposes of adding the following provisions - an employee has no entitlement to paid leave where the employer considers, on reasonable grounds, that the period of absence was industrially motivated, unless the employee provides a medical certificate and statutory declaration support their claim; providing a penalty for employees who attempt to disguise industrial action as sick leave; and providing a definition of "industrially motivated" action.
