Long Title |
The purpose of this Bill is to impose limitations on soliciting in a public place for the purposes of prostitution. The Bill allows prostitutes soliciting and persons soliciting the services of a prostitute in a public place to be detained for up to 12 hours and if apprehended for a second time [in the case of a prostitute] must attend a court-approved drug rehabilitation program and [in the case of a person soliciting the services of a prostitute] is liable for a fine of $1000 for a first offence, a fine of $3000 for a second offence and a fine of $5000 for subsequent offences. |
