Terms of Reference:On September 9 1998 the Ecologically Sustainable Development Committee initiated an inquiry into monitoring and reporting at least once a year on the implementation of the State’s Salinity Action Plan and other matters the committee considerered relevant to the State’s salinity problem, the first report to be tabled no later than December 31 1998.

Tabling Comments:Due to the prorogation of Parliament on Janurary 10 2001 the Committee was unable to conduct further inquiries and report to Parliament. In the 36th Parliament the Standing Committee on Ecologically Sustainable Development was amalgamated with the Standing Committee on Constitutional Affairs to create the Standing Committee on Environment and Public Affairs.
