Position Title:Tradesperson Cook
Level and Salary: Tradesperson Cook ($2,254.66 – $2,309.67 per fortnight pro-rata) + 10% super+ benefits

Primary Responsibilities and Additional Information:The Parliamentary Refreshment Rooms provide Members of Parliament, staff and visitors with a variety of dining opportunities within Parliament House. Applications are invited from enthusiastic professionals with a passion for food to work in the Catering Services unit of the Parliament of Western Australia.

You will be required to work a minimum of 22.5 hours/week when Parliament is sitting (approx. 20 weeks/year, no weekends). There may be opportunities to work additional hours on non-sitting weeks and functions. The role requires someone with a strong background in cold larder in addition to confidence in general cooking. The roster is for day time hours only.

Successful candidates will need to be suitably qualified, demonstrate exceptionally high standards in food preparation and be familiar with OHS and HACCP procedures.

Duties include preparation and service for a la carte, table d’hôtel, buffets and canapés and assisting the kitchen team with staff cafeteria and function requirements.

The Parliament is a prestigious environment and offers generous employment conditions including provision of uniform, free parking and free access to a gymnasium. A work roster can be provided for the year which enables the successful applicant to achieve good life/work balance.
