Position Title:Service Desk Officer (Administration)
Level and Salary:Level 3 $71,896 - $77,717 per annum plus super, plus benefits

Primary Responsibilities and Additional Information:Applications are sought from suitably qualified persons for the position of Service Desk Officer (Administration). This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of a dynamic organisation with generous employment conditions.

The Information Technology (IT) Unit is responsible for the provision of technology, communication and support services within the Parliamentary Precinct. A variety of innovative customised systems make the parliamentary environment a stimulating place to work.

This front-line customer service role provides support to members and staff of the Parliament of Western Australia. Responsibilities include developing and implementing desktop technical requirements and assisting with technical quality management and service delivery documentation, administrative support for the IT unit’s procurement and process management activities, assisting with the continuity, validity and reliability of all servers, storage, communications and networking infrastructure, and contributing to IT unit project planning.

Applicants should note, as part of the role, some evening work (overtime) is required on a rostered basis to support parliamentary sitting periods. These evenings are generally Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and number between seven and nine weeks per year.

The successful applicant will need to meet the following selection criteria.

Essential
· Demonstrated knowledge of the technical support of data networks
· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory and SCCM
· Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Exchange server and Outlook client
· Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Windows server/desktop
· Basic knowledge of VPN/ADSL and remote access technologies
· Previous experience in technical and desktop support for a medium/large organisation
· Strong customer focus with good communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable
· Previous experience in supporting the Microsoft Office product suite in a corporate environment
· Previous experience in supporting and deploying Microsoft operating systems
· Previous experience supporting a virtual server infrastructure platform (VM/Ware)
· Previous experience in basic office/work unit administration role
· Knowledge of ITIL Service Support processes
