I refer to question without notice 204 regarding the Rural Road Safety Program, noting the correspondence that was tabled, and I ask:
(a) has the Minister sought advice from the Road Safety Council or the Road Safety Commission on this $900 million project;
(b) if yes to (a), on what date was advice sought and please table a copy of your request and the advice received;
(c) what role did the Road Safety Commission or the Road Safety Council have in the development of the business case;
(d) please table the ‘paper’ referred to in the correspondence contained in Legislative Council tabled paper 3670;
(e) has the Minister met with the Road Safety Council and or Commissioner to discuss this project and, if so, on what dates did meetings occur;
(f) has funding for the project been sought from the Road Trauma Trust Account;
(g) has the project been assessed by the Road Safety Council for funding; and
(h) if yes to (f) or (g), will the Minister please table any relevant submission, assessment and response?

The Road Safety Commission advise:

(e) The Road Safety Council Chairman and Road Safety Commissioner respectively meet with the Minister on a regular basis to discuss a range of road safety matters. In particular, the Chair of the Road Safety Council has championed the program in numerous conversations with the Minister.
