(iii) outcome of application; and
(iv) the position of the Premier of the day on each application?

Answered on 27 February 2024

No statement was made by the former Premier on 17 August 2022. It is assumed that the Member is referring to a statement made by the former Premier on 17 August 2020.

(a)  (i) One request from the Waitsia Joint Venture was received on 19 October 2018, which resulted in a limited term export approval being granted.

(ii) Nil.

(iii) Four requests were received between 17 August 2020 and 13 November 2023. Strike Energy requested on three occasions between 2022 and 2023 to export gas from its Perth Basin assets. On each occasion Government responded consistent with the WA Domestic Gas Policy. Mineral Resources requested in 2023 to export gas from its Perth Basin assets. No decision has been made to Mineral Resources’ request.

(b) See (a).
