Question

I refer to the Minister’s answer to my question without notice No. 667, asked on 23 August 2018, in which the Minister informed the House that since the start of Operation Fledermaus and the formation of the Pilbara joint response team a total of 58 offenders have been charged with 349 charges being preferred, and I ask:
(a) are any of the 58 offenders in custody;
(b) if yes to (a), how many;
(c) of those offenders not in custody, are their whereabouts known to Western Australia Police; and
(d) are any of the 58 offenders on the sex offenders register?

The Western Australian Police force advise the following:

As at 18 September 2018, there are 60 offenders with 365 charges preferred.

(a) Yes. 

(b) 13.

(c) Yes. Those offenders going through the court process or subject to ANCOR reporting have there where-abouts known to Police. Police have no information that any known offender is breaching any reporting or legislative condition at this time.

(d) Yes.
