ISOLATED CHILDREN'S
PARENTS' ASSOCIATION — CONFERENCE
240. Hon JACQUI BOYDELL to the Minister for Education and
Training:
I refer to the 2019 annual Isolated
Children's Parents' Association conference tomorrow.
(1) Will the
minister be joining Hon Donna Faragher and me in attending this important
regional education function?
(2) If no to (1), is the
Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister for Education and Training attending?
(3) If no to (2), is anyone from the
McGowan government attending this event?
(4) If no to (3),
if the government does not see this as a priority to attend, can the minister
provide reasons as to why this is the case?
(5) Has the
minister noted the 19 motions of this conference, which aim to provide
certainty and clarity about regional education concerns?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
the question.
(1) No.
(2) I do not know; I will have to
check.
(3) I will need to check.
(4) I do not know if no-one is
attending, so I will have to check.
(5) With respect
to the 19 motions, I will need to check that. I do not think it reasonable for
the member to expect me to know whether —
Hon Jacqui Boydell: I am
just asking whether you have seen them.
Hon SUE ELLERY: And I am
giving the member my answer, which is that I do not know, and I do not know
that it is reasonable to expect me to answer the question without notice.
Hon Jacqui Boydell: You don't
know if you've seen them?
The PRESIDENT: Member, let
the minister finish what she has got to say.
Hon SUE ELLERY: Thank you,
Madam President. This is my answer. Hon Jacqui Boydell might not like it, but
it is my answer. I do not know off the top of my head, but I will check.
