Parliament: 40 Session: 1

AFFORDABLE HOUSING STRATEGY — PUBLIC HOUSING

746. Hon TIM CLIFFORD to the minister representing the Minister for Housing:

I refer to the Department of Communities' affordable housing action plan, which commits to delivering 35 000 affordable housing opportunities by 2020.

(1) How many affordable housing dwellings have been delivered to date, and please table the location for each?

(2) Of the 35 000 affordable housing opportunities, how many will be allocated as social housing?

(a) How many social housing dwellings have been delivered to date; and

(b) please table where the current social housing dwellings are located, and where the future dwellings are likely to be located.

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(1) As at 31 March 2019, there were 33 002 dwellings. I will table the attached document.

(2) The Department of Communities is unable to provide this figure as the final number for social housing is still to be determined based on demand.

(a) There are 6 165 dwellings as at 31 March 2019.

(b) I table the attached document.
