VOLUNTARY TARGETED SEPARATION SCHEME — DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION
898. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Minister for Education and Training:
I refer to the voluntary targeted separation scheme 2017.
(1) Can the minister confirm whether the government intends to reduce the number of full-time staff within the Department of Education by 800 through the implementation of this scheme?
(2) If no to (1), what is the correct number?
(3) Will the minister provide a complete list of all eligible staffing categories to which an offer of voluntary severance can be made?
(4) Will the minister provide a complete list of all staffing categories to which an offer of voluntary severance cannot be made?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) The government is currently working with the department to finalise its contribution to the scheme.
(3)–(4) The department has invited expressions of interest from non-school based staff.
