DEPARTMENT OF COMMUNITIES
— ONE-STOP HUBS
121. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the Leader of the House representing
the Minister for Child Protection:
I refer to the research completed
by Curtin University for the Department of Communities as part of the research
project for the development of two one-stop hubs.
(1) When did the minister receive
the research report?
(2) Has the minister been briefed
on this since receiving the report?
(3) Has anything
been done to address the resourcing of the family support networks that were
identified as already operating beyond capacity?
(4) If yes to (3), what steps have
been taken?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) On
23 November 2018, the ministerial office received from the Department of Communities
a copy of the Curtin University one-stop hubs final report.
(3)–(4) Yes. The family safety network model has been
enhanced to include a greater focus on case management and culturally responsive service delivery. The model
has been expanded to include coverage to all metropolitan corridors. The
expanded and enhanced family safety network model became operational in 2018.
