CARE LEAVERS — HOME STRETCH PROGRAM

799. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Child Protection:

I refer to the minister's announcement on 7 August 2019 that $440 000 will go towards implementing the first trial of the Anglicare-led Home Stretch program, supporting up to 15 care leavers in the Fremantle area.

(1) When is the first trial scheduled to commence?

(2) What is the planned duration for the first trial?

(3) What evaluation measures will be used for the first trial?

(4) How many other trials are intended?

(5) Will the minister table the most recent briefing note she received about the first trial?

Hon SUE ELLERY replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(1) The Home Stretch trial commenced in July 2019.

(2) The Home Stretch trial will be delivered to 15 young people over 12 months.

(3) The evaluation framework is currently being developed by Anglicare WA.

(4) A decision on additional trials has not yet been made.

(5) Yes. I table the attached briefing note.
