Minister for Racing and Gaming:
I refer to redundancies in Racing
and Wagering Western Australia.
(1) Please
provide the total number of redundancies from RWWA for the financial years 2016–17,
2017–18 and the financial year to date.
(2) Please
provide a breakdown of the areas or departments in which each redundancy has
occurred for the financial years 2016–17, 2017–18 and the
financial year to date.
(3) What is the
total cost of employee payouts for the financial years 2016–17, 2017–18
and the financial year to date?
(4) Please list
the title of each position made redundant for the financial years 2016–17,
2017–18 and the financial year to date.

I thank the member for the question.
The Minister for Racing and Gaming has provided the following information.
(1) In 2016–17,
there was nil. In 2017–18, there were two. In 2018–19, there
are 21 proposed redundancies.
(2) For 2016–17,
it is not applicable. In 2017–18, in the information services division
there were two. In 2018–19, in the finance and business services
division there were five; in the human resources division, there was one; in
the racing division, there were two; in the racing integrity division, there
were two; in the wagering division, there were two; and in the information
services division, there were nine.
(3) For 2016–17,
it is not applicable. In 2017–18, the costs were $212 366 for
redundancies and $67 985 for notice periods paid out. In 2018–19, there
are no payouts to date as the redundancies are proposed.
(4) For 2016–17,
it is not applicable. In 2017–18, the positions are manager, governance
transformation and strategy; and manager, software delivery. In 2018–19,
the positions are manager, finance operations; senior financial analyst;
manager, racing finance; senior racing officer; procurement administrator;
occupational safety and health adviser; manager, corporate communications;
handicapper—harness; test analysts—manual, five; wagering admin
coordinator; senior analyst programmer; senior betting supervisor; stewards
secretary; business analyst; senior application support programmer; campaign
coordinator; and enterprise architect.
