Question Without Notice No. 577 asked in the Legislative Council on 12 September 2017 by Hon Ken Baston
Parliament: 40 Session: 1
CONTAMINATED SITES — EXMOUTH
577. Hon KEN BASTON to the minister representing the Minister for Energy:
I refer to the answer to question without notice 575 asked on Wednesday, 6 September about a contaminated site in Exmouth—lots 300 and 301 on deposited plan 406333.
(1) What was the total cost to Horizon Power for the remediation works carried out at this site?
(2) Who were the environmental consultants?
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) I assume that the member is referring to question without notice 533, published in Hansard on Wednesday, 6 September, which was asked of the Environment portfolio.
Horizon Power has advised that it did not incur any costs for the remediation works carried out at the site. I wish to rectify my response to question without notice 533 and note that remediation works were conducted by Western Power prior to 2006. This question has now been referred to Western Power, which has advised it will require some time to retrieve relevant information, as it relates to Western Power's activities prior to its disaggregation. I therefore ask the member to put this question on notice.
