Parliamentary Questions

Question On Notice No. 1647 asked in the Legislative Council on 13 September 2018 by Hon Donna Faragher

Question Directed to the: Minister for Education and Training
Parliament: 40 Session: 1

Question

I refer to the Department of Education's Payroll Services, and I ask, will the Minister provide a breakdown of staff numbers within this service by (a) FTE and (b) headcount as at:
(a) 30 June 2016;
(b) 30 June 2017; and
(c) 30 June 2018?

Answered on 18 October 2018

The information as at 30 June 2016 and 30 June 2017 relates to the Department of Education prior to the Machinery of Government changes.

The realignment involved the transfer of a number of positions from Payroll to a newly formed Customer Services Centre. Therefore, the data is not directly comparable across these years.

Notes

  1. FTE and headcount figures are as at a point in time, being the closest pay date to the date requested (30 June of the requested years).
  • FTE levels and head count will fluctuate from pay period to pay period.
  • FTE figures include casual and non-casual staff.
  • Headcount figures do not include casual staff.

     2.  The average financial year FTE is the average paid FTE for the financial year. As the figure is an average, it may be higher than the FTE and headcount figure as at 30 June.
