Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 977 asked in the Legislative Council on 17 October 2018 by Hon Donna Faragher

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

LANDSDALE FARM SCHOOL — FAMILY SUPPORT WA

977. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Minister for Education and Training:

I refer to the selection of Family Support WA to manage and operate Landsdale Farm School.

(1) What is the expected length of the lease agreement?

(2) Will the minister table a copy of the proposed commercial lease terms?

(3) In addition to the answer provided in (2), have any other conditions been determined through the tendering process relating to the lease of Landsdale farm; and, if yes, will the minister list those conditions?

(4) When is the final lease agreement between the Department of Education and Family Support WA due to be finalised?

Hon SUE ELLERY replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(1) The proposed term of the lease is five years, with a further two five-year options.

(2) Yes. I table a copy of the proposed terms and conditions as provided in the request for proposal documentation.

[See paper 2068.]

(3) The terms and conditions are still being finalised as part of the current negotiations. Key agreed changes, which is what the question asked me and which I am about to give, include —

(a) use of premises—that is, an amended description to describe use of the site for students, including those with a disability, and the general public; and

(b) term and option to renew—that is, a five-year lease period with a further two five-year options.

Note that the final wording of the terms and conditions is still subject to negotiation.

(4) The execution of the lease agreement is anticipated in December 2018.
