PALLIATIVE CARE —
SILVER CHAIN — BUDGET ALLOCATION
542. Hon JIM CHOWN to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to comments made by the
Minister for Health in the Legislative Assembly estimates committee on
Wednesday, 22 May 2019 about additional funding for end-of-life choices and
palliative care, in which he stated that there was $5.8 million in project
funding to progress the recommendations of the Joint Select Committee on End of
Life Choices.
(1) Recommendation 8 from the Joint
Standing Committee on End of Life Choices states —
The Minister for Health should ensure
that community palliative care providers, such as Silver Chain, are adequately
funded to provide for growing demand.
What is the additional funding amount
allocated specifically to Silver Chain in the current budget for palliative
care?
(2) What is the total funding
allocated to Silver Chain for palliative care in —
(a) 2019–20;
(b) 2020–21;
(c) 2021–22; and
(d) 2022–23?
