Question

I refer to the residential college’s operated by the Department of Education, and I ask:
(a) for the 2019 school year and for each residential college please identify:
(i) the number of enrolments by school year for each college;
(ii) the student boarding capacity of each college;
(iii) the annual operating budget which has been allocated to each college;
(iv) the number of employees by head count and FTE for each college; and
(v) the amount of funding set aside for marketing and promoting boarding opportunities for each college; and
(b) with respect to the $8.7 million funding upgrade planned for the Moora Residential College please provide:
(i) the status of the funding

(ii) the status of the project;
(iii) what is the total cost of the project;
(iv) when will the project commence and complete;
(v) how will the college be affected whilst the upgrades occur; and
(vi) when will the project be released for tender?

The amounts for marketing and promotion are set by the individual residential colleges.

 

(b)(i)    Funding for the project has been approved by the Australian Government. Funding will be provided in 2019-20 and 2020-21.

     (ii)   The project is at the design development stage.

     (iii)  $8.7 million.

     (iv)  Construction is scheduled to commence in September 2019, with completion expected in September 2020.

     (v)   Consultation with the college to arrange staging of the work to minimise disruption during construction is continuing. Upgrades of existing areas will take place over school vacation periods as much as possible. Students will  stay in existing accommodation until the new accommodation is completed.

     (vi)  The project is scheduled for tender release in early June 2019.
