Parliament: 40 Session: 1

Answered on 25 September 2019

HIGH STREET, FREMANTLE — UPGRADE

1095. Hon PETER COLLIER to the minister representing the Minister for Transport:

I refer to the High Street upgrade project.

(1) Did the government seek an amendment to the metropolitan region planning scheme to facilitate this project?

(2) If no to (1), why not?

(3) If no to (1), what process did the government use to excise land from a class A reserve to use as a road reserve?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the Leader of the Opposition for some notice of the question.

(1)–(3) The High Street upgrade project was subject to a legislative process through the amendment of class A reserve 6638. This was tabled in both houses of Parliament in accordance with the Land Administration Act 1997 and was subject to disallowance.
