I refer to a media release released
by the MPA head, Dr Tom Hatton, on this day's date announcing the
backflip that the minister would be aware of. When did the minister become
aware that this backflip or this change in policy was about to be announced?

STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for
the question.
I
think the member asked about the MPA in his question. I presume he is talking
about the EPA, the Environmental Protection Authority.
Hon Simon O'Brien: I thought
I said EPA. That is what I meant.
Hon STEPHEN DAWSON: That is
not what I have written down.
In relation to the statement that
was made today, I was told at about one o'clock.
