URGENT CARE CLINIC —
GERALDTON
534. Hon MARTIN ALDRIDGE to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the McGowan government's
election commitment for urgent care clinics across Western Australia.
(1) What is the status of the Labor
election commitment to establish an urgent care clinic in Geraldton?
(2) When will the clinic commence
operation?
(3) What funding
has been allocated in the 2019–20 state budget and forward estimates to
support this commitment?
(4) Which local
service providers has the McGowan government worked with to deliver this
commitment?
Hon ALANNA
CLOHESY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. I note that this question was asked on Wednesday,
15 May 2019. The answer as at that date is current.
(1)–(4) The
GP urgent care clinic network is currently being established and will be
piloted within the metropolitan area. Once this pilot is underway, the options
for rollout across the WA Country Health Service will be assessed. In the
meantime, the provision of acute healthcare services at Geraldton Health Campus
will be a key priority for the government.
