Parliament: 41 Session: 1

Answered on 14 June 2022

PORT HEDLAND — MAYOR — ALLEGATIONS

512. Hon NEIL THOMSON to the Leader of the House representing the Minister for Local Government:

I refer to recent matters raised in the media, including in The Australian of 13 December 2021, concerning Port Hedland's mayor, Mr Peter Carter.

(1) When did the Corruption and Crime Commission refer matters to the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries?

(2) When will a report from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries be finalised to the minister?

(3) What other actions will the minister take while waiting for the report from the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries?

Hon SUE ELLERY replied:

I thought I saw that question submitted this morning, but it does not appear in my file. If it comes in before the end of question time, I am happy to give it to the member.
