(j) what work is the State doing with the local community to understand and prepare for the potential impact of bypassing the town site?

Answered on 18 September 2018

(a) $295m estimated. This includes $20m currently allocated for planning and project development.

(b) $236 million, including $16m allocated for planning and project development.

(c) $4m allocated for planning and project development.

(d)-(e) There is no shortfall - the State contribution towards construction will be considered as part of future budgetary processes. The delivery timeline will be established once funding has been confirmed.

(f) A number of connections will be provided to the Bindoon town site from Bindoon Bypass at the Southern Access, Mooliabeenee/via Crest Hill Road and the Northern Intersection. The need for connections at Tea Tree Road and Gray Road is being assessed.

(g) This will be determined as part of the planning and project development activities.

(h)-(i) This will be determined in consultation with the Shire of Chittering.

(j) Main Roads has been liaising with the community for over four years on the Bindoon Bypass, including individual business owners, Shire of Chittering and community reference group.
