I refer to the ''Draft WA Strategy to Respond to the Abuse of Older People (Elder Abuse)'' released on 15 June 2019 by the Department of Communities.

(1) What is the target date to finalise the strategy?

(2) What is the intended time line for the implementation of the strategy?

(3) How many of the 35 recommendations made in the final report of the Select Committee into Elder Abuse have been incorporated in the draft strategy?

(4) Which government agencies and departments have been identified to collect data on elder abuse?

Hon SUE ELLERY replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

(1) It is planned for the strategy to be finalised and launched towards the end of 2019.

(2) It is a 10-year strategy supported by two-year rolling action plans.

The two-year rolling action plans will contain initiatives from other agencies such as the Western Australia Police Force, the Department of Justice, the Department of Health and Landgate.
