DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION — SAVINGS MEASURES
122. Hon DONNA FARAGHER to the Minister for Education and Training:
I refer to the minister's joint press statement with the Premier on 11 January 2018, which states —
All measures were estimated to provide a total of $64 million in savings across the forward estimates. With the decision to reverse some of those measures, the total saving to the Budget is now estimated to be about $41 million.
Can the minister give the house an absolute guarantee that every one of the savings measures referred to in that press statement that have not been reversed and are now estimated to be about $41 million, according to that same press statement, have been made public?
Hon SUE ELLERY replied:
I think I would need to go back and read the statement, so I will do that before I answer the question to double-check. I am sure what the member quoted was correct, but I want to read the statement myself. I will give the member an answer when I have done that.
