Question

I refer to the official opening of the capital improvements to the Goomalling and York Health Service's on 7 March 2018, and I ask:
(a) will the Minister please name the invitees for each of the openings including their applicable position or title (if applicable);
(b) on what date and by what means was each person identified in (a) invited to the events;
(c) what was the cost of each event;
(d) who conducted the official opening for each event; and
(e) on what date was the time and date for each event chosen, and by whom?

I am advised that:

(a) Please see tabled paper no.

(b) Official invitations were distributed via email where possible. Where email addresses were not provided, invitations were posted. The following groups were issued with invitations via email or post over the course of 15 – 16 February 2018:

  • Local stakeholders;
  • Project architects;
  • Project construction staff;
  • Department of Building Management and Works staff;
  • The WA Country Health Service (WACHS) Executive staff (including Board Chair, Deputy Chair and Chief Executive); and
  • WACHS Wheatbelt staff

Draft invitations for Members of Parliament were received via email on Thursday 22 February 2018 in the Ministerial Office, with the hard copies arriving on Friday 23 February 2018. The Minister signed the invitations on Monday 26 February 2018 and they were distributed via post the same day.

(c) The costs for each event are as follows:

  • Catering for each event was prepared on site by kitchen staff. Costs of additional food supplies were approximately $600 for York and $450 at Goomalling.
  • Production of plaque and stand hire for each event totalled $1,150.

(d) The Minister for Health.

(e) The Minister for Health advised of two suitable dates for the official openings of York and Goomalling Health Services.

WACHS Wheatbelt nominated 7 March 2018 as the preferred date and this date was approved by the office of the Minister for Health on 16 January 2018.
