WATER CORPORATION — DISCONNECTIONS
588. Hon PETER COLLIER to the minister representing the Minister for Water:
What were the number of disconnections by the Water Corporation for each month January to August 2017 inclusive?
Hon ALANNAH MacTIERNAN replied:
I thank the member for notice of the question. The Minister for Water has provided the following information.
The Water Corporation does not disconnect the water supply due to non-payment. It will restrict supply to 2.3 litres per minute, which is sufficient for basic sanitation and drinking purposes, as a last resort. The supply and restrictions for each month January to July 2017 are as follows: January, 179; February, 282; March, 227; April, 148; May, 255; June, 196; July, 2 022. The figures for August are not yet available.
