Question
I refer to visits to public hospitals by local Members of Parliament, and I ask:
(a) what is the Department of Health and WA Country Health Service policies relevant to such visits;
(b) what departmental policies exist in relation to photography at hospital sites; and; and
(c) how can the Minister explain the plethora of Labor Members of Parliament featured in photographs at public hospitals when opposition Members of Parliament are told they can only take photographs from the street?

I am advised:
(a)-(b) All requests for members of Parliament to visit public hospitals must be made through the Minister for Health’s office as per standard protocol.
All Health Service Providers have policies in place in relation to photography at hospital sites. These include:
Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) - Photography and Video/Audio Recording Non Clinical policy and Guest Visits policy.
East Metropolitan Health Service (EMHS) – Clinical Photography and Videography policy, Media Communications Policy.
North Metropolitan Health Service (NMHS) – Hospital Wide Policy, Clinical Photography, Women and Newborn Health Service (WNHS) Policy Manual - Photography and Videography within WNHS.
South Metropolitan Health Service (SMHS) - Clinical photography and videography policy.
WA Country Health Service (WACHS) – Clinical image photography and videography policy, Photography and Filming of Clinical Care by Patients, Carers, Relatives, Visitors or Contractors Policy.
(c) As no information is provided on the number of photographs or where these are being published the Minister for Health is unable to answer this question.
