CORONAVIRUS —
STIMULUS MEASURES
909. Hon PETER COLLIER to
the minister representing the Treasurer:
This question is asked on behalf of
Hon Dr Steve Thomas, who is on urgent parliamentary business.
I refer to the hearings of the
Public Accounts Committee of the Legislative Assembly into the COVID-19
response held on 17 June 2020, the transcript of which has now been made public
on the committee's website and in which the Under Treasurer told the
committee —
 in Treasury we get a weekly traffic
light report about how each of these stimulus measures have been rolled out and
how they are tracking, and if there are any issues that need to be addressed.
(1) Is the weekly traffic light
report given to the Treasurer or his office?
(2) Will the
Treasurer provide a copy of the latest weekly traffic light report?
(3) If no to (2), why not?
(4) If no to (2), what has been the
total expenditure to date for each of the following stimulus measures —
(a) residential tenancy grants;
(b) land tax relief;
(c) small business grants;
(d) the Keystart interest and
deferred payment scheme;
(e) payments to employers of
apprentices; and
(f) the small business tariff offset
for electricity bills?
Hon
STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank Hon Dr Steve Thomas for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by
the Treasurer.
(1)–(4) Updates
on stimulus measures inform advice to the Expenditure Review Committee and are
therefore cabinet-in-confidence.
