RESIGNATION
105. Hon TJORN SIBMA to the minister representing the
Minister for Water:
I refer to answers
provided to my recent questions concerning the resignation of the chairman of
the Water Corporation board.
(1) On how
many occasions in 2019, and on which specific dates, did the minister or any of
the minister's staff meet with, and/or communicate with, the former
chairman of the Water Corporation board, prior to the minister's
Christmas function of 16 December, ''at which only pleasantries were
exchanged''?
(2) What
specific issues were discussed on these occasions?
(3) Did the
minister take up the former chairman's offer for a courtesy meeting, as
revealed by the tabling of the resignation email of 15 January?

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the
question. I provide the following answer on behalf of the minister representing
the Minister for Water.
(1) There were 17 meetings with Mr Hollett during 2019. I table
the attached information.

range of issues related to the Water Corporation's responsibilities,
such as strategic direction and new
operating model, financial performance, major projects, safety, filling board
vacancies, addressing the impacts of climate change, and assisting
customers in financial hardship.
