Parliamentary Questions

Question Without Notice No. 81 asked in the Legislative Council on 18 February 2020 by Hon Diane Evers

Parliament: 40 Session: 1

BUSHFIRES — SOUTH WEST

81. Hon DIANE EVERS to the Minister for Environment:

I refer to the Lewana plantation fire in February 2019 and the minister's response to question without notice 785. Has the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions liaised with affected landholders in line with its good neighbour policy; if yes, what was the outcome; and, if not, why not?

Hon STEPHEN DAWSON replied:

I thank the honourable member for some notice of the question.

The Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions has continued to liaise and work with affected landowners and other stakeholders to improve relationships and reinstate access tracks. These actions are in line with the department's good neighbour relations policy.
