BENNETT BROOK DISABILITY JUSTICE CENTRE —
SUPREME COURT INJUNCTION
820. Hon MICHAEL MISCHIN to the Minister for Disability
Services:
I refer to the Bennett Brook
Disability Justice Centre and the government's injunction restraining
media organisations from publishing information concerning it.
(1) Did the
minister or his office brief the Premier or his office regarding the injunction
or the incident involving disability justice officers losing line of sight of a
resident for half an hour?
(2) If yes to
(1), who was briefed, by whom and on what date?
(3) Did the minister or his office brief any other
minister or their office regarding the injunction or that incident?
(4) If yes to (3), who was briefed,
by whom and on what date?
Hon
STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) No. However,
the Premier's office was alerted to the injunction issued by Justice P.
Tottle on the day the order was made—3 August 2019.
(2) Not applicable.
(3)–(4) I
do not believe so. However, if the honourable member would like to put this
part of the question on notice, a thorough check can be done.
