New positions created by the new Staffing Level Agreement (SLA), signed 26 July 2019:

  • Current Entry Level Training Programs (ELTP) will place approximately 50 new Prison Officers by mid-November into Hakea.
  • Additional 64 new PO positions of which 39 remain unfilled to date. These positions will be filled with recruits coming in between now and November 2019.
  • Additional seven (7) VSO positions, *three (3) of which have already been created and ** four (4) are awaiting creation.
  • Additional five (5) SO positions, two (2) of these will only be filled on a temporary basis due to the nature of the duties.
  • Each prison has dedicated VSO roles and must recruit to the specific industry and qualifications needed for that prison.
