Question Directed to the: Minister for Environment
Parliament: 40 Session: 1

Question

I refer to the email from the Minister’s office, dated 29 August 2017, and I ask:

(a) for what period of time was the Minister in the South Metropolitan Region;
(b) further to (a):
(i) how many meetings, events, functions or similar did the Minister attend;
(ii) who attended each of the meetings, events, functions or similar with the Minister; and
(iii) did the Minister receive or create any documents during or in preparation for the meetings, events, functions or similar;
(c) if yes to (b)(iii), what were those documents;
(d) further to (c), will the Minister table those documents;
(e) if yes to (d), when; and
(f) if no to (d), why not?
Answered on 1 November 2017

(a-f) I assume you are referring to the standard email informing members that I would be in their electorate on Ministerial engagements.

For the Honourable Member’s information, I had three engagements on the 29th of August in the South Metropolitan region; meeting Department of Water and Environmental Regulation staff at the Booragoon office and visiting their Air Quality Laboratory in Myaree, visiting the Department of Communities Disability Services office in Myaree, and attending the official opening of the Rocky Bay Cockburn Facility. Excluding transit time, I was in the region for approximately 5 hours.

The documents prepared contained names of private individuals and are considered to be personal. If the Honourable Member requires this information he is encouraged to submit a Freedom of Information Application so that the consultation and decision making processes mandated by the Freedom of Information Act 1992 can be followed.
