POLICE —
OUT-OF-CONTROL PARTIES
1426. Hon COLIN TINCKNELL to the minister representing the
Minister for Police:
I refer to the media coverage at
page 4 of The West Australian of 25 November 2019 of a recent incident
involving an out-of-control party and the subsequent damage to an Airbnb
property in Cannington, and the link made to the regulatory inquiry into
short-term accommodation.
(1) How many
police call-outs have there been in the last two years to out-of-control
parties at residential premises?
(2) Of those,
how many were at owner-occupied properties; at rental properties; or at holiday
accommodation or short-term let properties?
Hon
STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. The following answer has been provided to me by
the Minister for Police.
The Western Australia Police Force
advises the following.
(1) Between 26
November 2017 and 26 November 2019, there have been 85 incidents statewide in
which police have been called out to a declared out-of-control gathering, an
incident requiring intervention only or an incident likely to become an
out-of-control gathering.
(2) This data is not specifically
recorded on Western Australia Police Force systems.
