- No, the Western Australian State Government is not currently the funder of last resort for any now defunct non-government institutions. Whether the State Government can be a funder of last resort for a defunct non-government institution in any given case is a question of fact to be decided by the Commonwealth Operator.

- The National Redress Scheme for Institutional Child Sexual Abuse Act 2018 (Cth) sets out how the funder of last resort for a defunct non-government institution is to be determined by the Operator. It is not a matter for the State Government to decide.
