Question Without Notice No. 571 asked in the Legislative Council on 12 September 2017 by Hon Jacqui Boydell
Parliament: 40 Session: 1
COUNTRY AGE PENSION FUEL CARD
571. Hon JACQUI BOYDELL to the Minister for Regional Development:
I note that the budget fixes the cost of the Country Age Pension Fuel Card over the forward estimates, cutting $3.5 million from the program.
(1) Have the criteria for the fuel card eligibility changed?
(2) Will the subsidy provided by the fuel card remain indexed to the consumer price index?
(3) If no to (1) and (2), what does this cut represent?
Hon ALANNAH MacTIERNAN replied:
(1)–(3) I can get more detail for the member, but the eligibility for the fuel card will not be changing. Like all other projects, we will be reviewing it as we go forward, but the eligibility criteria have not changed.
