ON END OF LIFE CHOICES — RESEARCH OFFICER
1264. Hon NICK GOIRAN to the parliamentary secretary
representing the Minister for Health:
I refer to the government's
response to the report of the now dissolved Joint Select Committee on End of
Life Choices tabled on 27 November 2018.
(1) Has the
government employed one of the committee's research officers?
(2) To what
position has this person been employed, for what period of tenure and on what
terms of remuneration?
(3) Does that
person have access to the minutes of the committee that the government wishes
to keep secret?
(4) Was that
person privy to information that 32 Legislative Councillors were not and are
not privy to?

CLOHESY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. I am advised of the following.
(1) Yes.
(2) It is a senior
policy adviser position for the period 30 October 2018 to 21 October 2019;
Public Service and Government Officers General Agreement, level 8; and the
remuneration is $133 296 per annum.
(3) No.
(4) Access to
information was to the extent required to undertake the duties of the position
of a research officer. Such positions are subject to confidentiality provisions
as part of the contract of employment.
