HEALTHCARE WORKER
IMMUNISATION POLICY
606. Hon JAMES HAYWARD to the minister representing the
Minister for Health:
I ask this question on behalf of Hon
Martin Aldridge, who is away on urgent parliamentary business.
I refer to the WA Department of
Health's healthcare worker immunisation policy, which defines the
minimum immunisation standards for health service employers to adopt to protect
employees and patients from the threat of exposure to vaccine-preventable
diseases.
(1) Which vaccines are recommended
in the healthcare worker immunisation policy?
(2) Does the
state government intend to review the healthcare worker immunisation policy to
include COVID-19 vaccines for healthcare workers?
(3) What is the
state government's policy regarding mandatory immunisation requirements
for healthcare workers?
(4) Does the state government have
any ability to set mandatory immunisation for healthcare workers?
Hon
STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
