CAMP SCHOOLS AND
LANDSDALE FARM SCHOOL — ANNUAL SAVINGS
804. Hon COLIN de GRUSSA to the Minister for Education and
Training:
Notice of this question was given to
the Minister for Education and Training on Tuesday, 11 September, so I hope it
is in the file.
I refer to the minister's
media statement dated 8 September 2018 regarding camp schools and the Landsdale
Farm School, which states that a change in structure will deliver an estimated
$3.18 million in net annual savings.
(1) How much of that estimated $3.18
million is attributable to Landsdale Farm School?
(2) Can the minister please provide
a breakdown of savings attributed to each of the camp schools?
(3) Has this $3.18 million changed
from the previous savings estimates?
(4) If yes to (3), can the minister
please provide details?
Hon ALANNA
CLOHESY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question. I provide this answer on behalf of the Minister
for Education and Training.
(1) An amount of $0.52 million.
(2) The
information is provided in tabular form, with columns regarding the camp
schools and the savings per year. I seek leave to have that part of the answer
incorporated into Hansard.
Leave granted.

(4) The previous
savings estimated were $3.432 million a year; however, as per the media
statement, the Department of Education will contribute $0.25 million a year to
Fairbridge WA to ensure that camping experiences remain consistent across all
camp school sites.
