I refer to the Western Australia
Gourmet Escape.
(1) How many
tickets were sold for the Gourmet Escape events in Margaret River for the years
2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019?
(2) How many tickets were sold for
the Gourmet Escape events in the Swan Valley in 2019?
(3) When will the
review of the 2019 Gourmet Escape be completed and will it be made publicly
available?

I thank the member for the
question. The following information has been provided to me by the Minister for
Tourism.
(1)–(2) Tourism
Western Australia does not have ticket sales figures for Gourmet Escape events
held in Margaret River in 2016, 2017, 2018
and 2019, and it has not been able to discuss the member's request with
an authorised person working for the event holder in the time available.
However, the attendance figures for the years when the Gourmet Escape was held
in Margaret River were 18 786 in 2016, 19 074 in 2017 and 20 138 in 2018. The
2019 Gourmet Escape was a much bigger event and staged in three locations—the
Swan Valley, Perth and Margaret River. The attendance figures across the many satellite
and fringe events that were held are still being finalised.
(3) The
post-event report is expected to be submitted to Tourism WA four to five months
after the event and will not be made publicly available.
