ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AUTHORITY —
GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS — CONSULTATION
529. Hon PETER COLLIER to
the Minister for Environment:
I
refer to the publication of the ''Environmental Factor Guideline: Greenhouse
Emissions'' and ''Technical Guidance: Mitigating Greenhouse Gas Emissions'' by
the Environmental Protection Authority on 7 March.
(1) Has the Environmental Protection Authority
recommenced consultation since the guidelines were withdrawn?
(2) If yes to (1), when did
consultation occur and with whom has consultation taken place?
(3) Have the
original documents been used for consultation, which other documents have been
used for consultation, and will the minister table the documents; and, if not,
why not?
Hon
STEPHEN DAWSON replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1)–(2) I
am advised that the Environmental Protection Authority intends to commence
formal consultation on 10 June 2019. The EPA has engaged with its stakeholder
reference group on the process of consultation, which will be an open 12-week
process inviting input from the public and stakeholders.
(3) I am advised
that the Environmental Protection Authority is currently drafting the documents
that will form the basis of this consultation.
