MAROOMBA AIRLINES
664. Hon PETER COLLIER to the Leader of the House
representing the Premier:
I refer to the government's
contract with Maroomba Airlines in relation to the King Air and Hawker XP
aircraft.
(1) Was a new
contract signed with Maroomba Airlines following the purchase of the two
aircraft by the Western Australian government?
(2) What is the value of the
contract and the length of the contract with Maroomba Airlines?
(3) Will the
Premier list the terms and conditions of the contract, including the state
government's entitlements under the contract?
(4) Will the Premier table the
contract; and, if not, why not?
Hon SUE
ELLERY replied:
I thank the honourable member for
some notice of the question.
(1) No. A new
contract was not signed with Maroomba Airlines following the purchase of two
aircraft. In accordance with the existing contract with Maroomba Airlines, an
extension of contract was offered for a period of approximately 12 months to
provide service continuity whilst the current tender process is underway to
procure an operations and maintenance contractor.
(2)–(4) In
light of the current tender process for an operations and maintenance
contractor, releasing this information at this time may have an adverse impact
on this process.
